As in the album description, I lead the model team to seriously upgrade the Orville and other ships.
My work in this shot is a ton of modeling and qc work on the Orville, as well as modeling and some lookdev on the Union Space Station.
Here are some detail shots of the Orville.

In total, the team and I put more than 10,000 individual panels onto the Orville's hull.

The lookdev artist we had on the team did an incredible job making the ship come to life.

We even upgraded the original base mesh and gave it a more refined, neater look.

My baby. While the rest of the team was prepping other assets in prepro, I begged for, and was given the Union Space Station. I took the basic mesh from season 1&2 and gave it a literal overhaul and upgrade. I did not light this shot, just the model.
Opening Credits shot of the Union Space Station.
I did not light this shot, just the model.
On one side of one of the 3 docking arms, is a landing platform. I designed a series of elevators that lowered the shuttles into a hangar bay. Seth liked it so much he put it in the opening credits (briefly).
I did not light this shot, just the model.
On the screen left side of the docking arm, is the repair yard. I upgraded that from the ending of the previous season.
I did not light this shot, just the model of the space station, and the Orville.
I also designed, modeled, and did the lookdev on the docking clamps for the repair yard.

Fun fact: The Orville measures at (according to the client vfx sup) 3,067ft. The Union Space Station is 52,493ft from end to end.
I did not light this shot, just the model of the space station.
I did the model, and some of the lookdev upgrades to the Kaylon Cruiser and Interceptor as well.
I also did this shot lighting.

Nearly still shot of the Interceptor shows off some details.

It was great to see the much needed upgrades come to life.

I also designed the animation of how the Interceptor detaches from the Cruiser.

Lighting is so much better this season. I did not do the shot lighting here.

So with this season I was a lead artist at FuseFX, working very closely with the clients this time around, to give the ship assets a full-blown upgrade to the overall look. Under the guide of the vfx and cg supervisors, I lead a team of modelers who as a whole, meticulously modeled over 10,000 panels to the hull of The Orville, which was designed by the client's lead vfx supervisor. The lookdev artist then gave it a major look upgrade all on her own. We then used this method to do the same to the Union Cruiser, and the Union Leviathan class ships.
I also did the model upgrades for the Kaylon Cruiser, and Interceptor. The Union Space Station, was a massive undertaking that I did the modeling and some of the lookdev for.
