Over the last 20 years, I have done many Star Wars fan film contributions as well as personal projects; so I already had an existing arsenal of Imperial CG assets I have modeled, and kept a library of those assets.
After compiling my existing assets, I was ready to upgrade those, and start modularizing them for the set.
A lot of dev went into the "Eyeball", since the kit would mainly center around this part.
Most of the detail was modeled in over the course of the last decade or so, as I would update with new TIEs for fan films or personal projects, I carried all those details over to one file and started rebuilding.
This was my first foray into the interior cockpit. Had a lot of help from Andor stills from season one.
The interior was a blast to design. I integrated buttons and knobs from a Cockpit Kitbash Set I made a few months back, and just "Star Warsed" it up a bit.
About 30 weapons in total, ranging from turbolaser cannons, to missile launchers, and even seismic charges...
Added the disruptor pod from Andor Season 2!
I figured "why not have an Ion cannon from Hoth built onto a TIE fighter...."
Lots of body types and wing shapes for adding onto the existing eyeball.
Some greebles, and solar wing panel construction pieces.
Added a large, square solar panel so those who purchase this kit, can cut their own shapes and sizes to make their own TIE fighter.
The OG
Vader's TIE
The Bomber from TESB
My favorite, the Interceptor.
The TIE Droid from Dark Empire!
This bad-ass from the X-wing vs TIE Fighter game series.
Another fav from the XvT series.
The Crawler! Never saw a CG asset anywhere on the internet for this, so I did one!
Actually this one is my favorite, from the Rebel Strike game.
My own design, which I threw together quickly. The TIE Skimmer. A hydrofoil that could patrol places like Narkina 5.
Another design of mine, the TIE Artillery (dumb name, I know). Packs two massive turbo laser cannons, a triple barrel broadside cannon, and an anti-air turret.
Last original design of my Vol 1 pack: The TIE Obliterator. comes with a full compliment of seismic charges.
TIE Avenger close up.
TIE Hunter Still.
Star Wars has been a major inspiration on my career, so one of the projects I've wanted to do was a TIE kitbash set (available here: https://www.artstation.com/a/47873887).
