Even with the Persecutor's shields off-line, the armor plating is much thicker than a standard Star Destroyer, giving it an even greater edge while on the defensive.
The gravity well projectors are also connected to a tractor beam relay system that has the ability to enhance the output of the tractor beams orders of magnitude greater than other capital ships. (continued)
So much so, that the Persecutor could focus the tractor beams while localizing the gravity well projectors, to alter the course of battle cruisers in its vicinity.
Perhaps the greatest defensive capability of the Persecutor, is its Molecular Shield Array. Backed up by an entire reactor core dedicated to storing incoming energy, the Molecular Shields absorb energy from incoming fire, and redirect it to the weapons.
With the absorbed energy from incoming fire redirected to the weapons reactor, the weapons batteries of the Persecutor can be overcharged as much as 7-fold to annihilate any enemy that opposes it.
A large ventral hangar bay system can allow the Persecutor to resupply for a whole year's worth of rations, or add a compliment of an additional 30,000 troops ready for deployment.
Massive broadside cannons are able to deal a great amount of damage to capital ships and space stations.
Boasting 12 lateral hangar bays for support craft and TIEs of all types, the Persecutor is capable of launching a massive ground or aerial assault, all on its own.

6,000m from bow to stern, though the Persecutor was long dismissed by New Republic as a battlefield myth due to the absence of Imperial wreckage among their fleet's shattered remains, the Persecutor proved to be a very real and devastating foe.
Powered by multiple linked reactor cores, the vessel's overwhelming offensive output and redundant defensive systems are capable of annihilating entire task forces. Designed and commanded by the enigmatic warlord known only as the Wraith, this destroyer emerged in the chaotic aftermath of the Endor, relentlessly harrying New Republic forces and any who opposed its master’s ambitions.
